Out of hours

24-hour and out-of-hours help

You can post a request any hour of any day — evenings, weekends, Sundays and bank holidays included. We alert vetted local providers who have set themselves available; whoever is free picks it up and sends you a price before you commit to anything.

How out-of-hours works, honestly

SomeoneToday is open around the clock — the website never closes and requests go out the moment you post them. Providers set their own availability, so out-of-hours coverage depends on who has flipped themselves available in your area that evening or weekend. Emergency trades — plumbers, locksmiths, electricians, recovery — are the most likely to work nights; last-minute lifestyle services tend to run mornings to evenings. Either way you'll know quickly, because the first free provider replies with a price and if nobody picks it up we say so rather than leaving you hanging.

Do out-of-hours jobs cost more?

Often, yes — nights, Sundays and bank holidays can carry a premium, exactly as they do when you ring a firm directly. The difference here is that the provider quotes their full price in the chat before you commit, so you can accept it, decline it, or wait until morning. Nothing is charged for asking.

Quick answers

You can post the request at 2am and any provider set to available right then is alerted immediately. Night coverage varies by area — if nobody picks it up, we tell you, and your request is still first in line come morning.
Yes — requests go out seven days a week including bank holidays. Providers who work those days pick them up and quote as normal.
Not from us — our booking fee is the same at any hour (5% on jobs up to £1,000, 2.5% above). Providers may price night or holiday work higher, and you see their price before you commit.
As soon as an available provider sees the alert. Emergency trades check them through the night; you'll see the moment someone accepts, live on your tracking page.
Make it safe first: stopcock off for escaping water, consumer unit off for electrical faults, and for gas call 0800 111 999 before anything else. Our guides walk you through the first steps for each problem.
